My name is Troy Heatwole. Welcome to my website! On this website, you will find an in-depth description of my skills as a public relations and communications professional. Each page showcases my skills and experience regarding each specialization across all occupations. I am currently a Junior Publicist at R Public Relations. As a Junior Publicist, I plan and conduct public relations campaigns with a team of colleagues on behalf of our clients. The goal of these public relations campaigns is to increase brand visibility, shape brand image, and build relationships with key stakeholders. These campaigns include, but are not limited to, media relations, influencer outreach, community outreach, event activations, and more.
I am also a member of the business development team at R Public Relations. As a member of the business development team, I meet with prospective clients to understand their business needs. I write and present proposals based on their business needs and write the services & deliverable once an agreement has been reached.
Prior to my role as a Junior Publicist, I was the Communications Liaison for Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak. As the Communications Liaison, I handled the marketing and business development for our State College and Altoona Offices. My marketing duties included planning and conducting seminars, creating marketing and internal communications collateral, and social media content, among other duties. My business development duties included building relationships with new referral sources, maintaining relationships with current referral sources, representing the company at networking events, and assisting other members of the firm with networking, among other duties.
I graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. During my time at Kent State, I was a member of the Kent chapter of PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America), serving on the board of PR Kent as both the Treasurer and the VP of Communications.
As a student, I completed three internships as both a Public Relations Intern and a Marketing Intern.
